Formula 1 heads to one of the most iconic circuits on the calendar this week, with Brazil's Interlagos hosting Round 20 of the 2026 season.
Once again, the race will run under the Sao Paulo Grand Prix moniker used since 2021, marking the first edition under this name without a sprint. Instead, the Interlagos weekend will adopt the traditional format featuring three practice sessions, qualifying, and the Grand Prix for the first time since the final Brazilian Grand Prix in 2019.
The Sao Paulo venue had been the only circuit to host a sprint race every year since the format was introduced in 2021. That streak comes to an end this weekend, but Interlagos is set to return to the sprint schedule next year as one of ten tracks hosting the short race during the 2027 season. The remaining sprints next year will take place in Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Canada, Monaco, Great Britain, Italy, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi.
