World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka advanced to the second round of Roland Garros today, defeating Spain's Jessica Bouzas Maneiro in straight sets in her opening match at the season's second Grand Slam.
Facing the world No. 50, Sabalenka, last year's finalist, dominated on the Parisian clay, securing a 6-4, 6-2 victory in just one hour and 15 minutes. She continues her quest for one of the two Grand Slam trophies that have eluded her – having won the Australian Open in 2023 and 2024, and the US Open in 2024 and 2025 – but has yet to find success in Europe, with Roland Garros and Wimbledon still missing from her collection.
Regardless, the world No. 1 is ready for the spotlight, at least when it comes to accessories! The Belarusian is gracing Roland Garros with a jewelry set valued at nearly 140,000 euros. The parure, comprising three necklaces and two pairs of garnet and diamond earrings, was custom-made for the Parisian tournament, drawing inspiration from the clay court's distinctive color.
The Belarusian tennis star's penchant for opulent and luxurious jewelry is nothing new. It's worth recalling that in January 2026, Sabalenka competed at the Australian Open adorned with a sapphire and diamond set. Since March, following her engagement to Georgios, she has been stepping onto the court sporting a 12-carat diamond ring.
For the tournament in Paris, one of the world's fashion capitals, the tennis player has partnered with a luxury brand. A company spokesperson explained the inspiration behind the collection: "Strongly inspired by the characteristic clay courts of historic Roland Garros, with their unmistakable hues and undertones of burnt red, garnets are the distinctive element of the look."
According to the Daily Mail, the set includes a necklace featuring 4.7 carats of diamonds and 49 carats of garnets, valued at approximately 30,000 euros. A second necklace option, with garnets ranging from 9 to 72.9 carats, costs 45,000 euros, while a third necklace, boasting 8.5 carats of diamonds and 81.6 carats of garnets, is priced at 40,000 euros. The white gold and precious stone earrings, featuring 1.6 carats of diamonds and 14.3 carats of garnets, are valued at around 12,000 euros.
Sabalenka shared images of the jewelry on her social media, expressing her excitement. "Can't wait to wear them on court," the tennis player wrote on Instagram. The world No. 1 is the first official ambassador for the American brand, and according to the company's website, "throughout 2026, she will wear our creations on and off the court."
The brand also highlighted a precedent that could serve as a good omen: "In 2025, Aryna wore some of our unique pieces and won the US Open." The collection dedicated to the tennis player includes other pieces with prices ranging from a thousand euros for a garnet necklace to 230,000 euros for diamond and emerald earrings.
