World Boxing, the international governing body, has announced the lifting of all restrictions on Russian boxers.
Russian athletes will now be permitted to compete under their national flag in tournaments sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee-recognized organization. Previously, they could only participate as neutral athletes.
World Boxing clarified that while restrictions on Russian boxers are removed, Russian delegations will be closely monitored during their participation in tournaments.
During the Executive Committee meeting in Glasgow, decisions were also made regarding upcoming Olympic qualifiers. For Europe, the qualification event will be next year's European Games in Istanbul. Bulgarian national team members will have two additional opportunities to secure quotas for Los Angeles 2028 through two world qualification tournaments, which will be hosted by Italy and Hungary.
