Endrick and Real Madrid had already agreed terms for a loan switch to Roma before the Spanish giants' head coach Jose Mourinho intervened, leaving the Italian outfit as frontrunners to make a fresh approach in January, according to AS.
The 20-year-old has grown increasingly frustrated with his lack of playing time at the Bernabeu following his return from a six-month loan spell at Lyon in January this year. The Brazilian notched eight goals and eight assists in 21 appearances for the French side, earning himself a spot in Carlo Ancelotti's squad for the World Cup in North America.
Roma had pushed hard for a summer deal and the details were already finalised when Mourinho stepped in and convinced Endrick to stay in Madrid. However, the forward has made just a single four-minute cameo in La Liga so far, and with his patience running thin, he is set to push for a move in January. That puts Roma in pole position to launch a renewed bid, though the Italian side are likely to face stiff competition from other top European clubs, with AC Milan also linked.
