Rivers United progressed to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup after a 0-0 draw away at Rayon Sports of Rwanda in Kigali.

Rivers United had to dig in to get the 0-0 draw as they played for much of the second half with 10 men.

They are now the now the only surviving Nigerian team in CAF competitions this season.

Rivers United will know their opponents in the group stage draw which will take place on Wednesday at CAF Headquarters in Cairo.

The 16 clubs remaining will be drawn into four groups of four teams in each group.

In the group stage, each group is played on a home-and-away round-robin basis.

The winners and runners-up of each group advance to the quarter-finals of the knockout stage.
