Camara will take over the seat vacated by Esteban Ocon, who was released by the team on Saturday morning, with Ryo Hirakawa stepping in to complete the Mexico City race weekend.

Hirakawa, however, is committed to Toyota for the World Endurance Championship season finale at Monza this weekend. The 32-year-old Japanese driver is expected to return to race for Haas in Qatar and Abu Dhabi for the final two rounds of the Formula 1 season in late November and early December. Across those two race weekends, Camara will focus on his Formula 2 title battle with Invicta.

Camara currently leads Nikola Tsolov by seven points in the Formula 2 standings, and if the reports are confirmed, he will make his Formula 1 debut in front of his home crowd this weekend.
