Renato Veiga addressed journalists in the mixed zone of Toronto Stadium, focusing on Portugal's upcoming Round of 16 clash against Spain at the 2026 World Cup.
"Every match is tough, both for teams playing against Portugal and for Portugal when facing other opponents. As you progress in the World Cup, the level only gets higher… or not, it depends on the draw. We know Spain is a nation that consistently produces high-level talent across all generations. We need to be prepared; it will be just another game," stated the center-back, who didn't elaborate much on his solidified spot in the national team's starting XI alongside Rúben Dias.
"I always try to give my best to help the team. Above all, the most important thing today was the victory," he added.
