As new clubs are sought, Filip Sunturlić, Vice President of the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS), has confirmed to RIA Novosti that discussions are underway between the VTB League and KSS.
"The participation of Serbian clubs in the VTB League is a topic that Sergey Kushchenko (VTB League President) and I are discussing. We will explore opportunities for our clubs to compete in pre-season tournaments, including the SuperCup, and potentially in the VTB League itself in the future. Ideally, the top Serbian clubs would participate, but given the current basketball competition ecosystem, the schedule already demands an excessive number of games per season for players and clubs. Teams like Partizan and Crvena Zvezda play around 80 games per season across all competitions. Therefore, I believe their participation is not currently feasible. Once the situation normalizes – meaning when CSKA and Zenit return to the EuroLeague, and Unics and Parma to the EuroCup – we will reassess the next steps." - Filip Sunturlić
