The last time two Red Bull drivers stood on the podium was at the Chinese Grand Prix at the start of the 2024 season. On that occasion, Verstappen claimed victory in Shanghai, with Sergio Perez finishing third, separated by Lando Norris of McLaren.

Following that race in China, Perez's performance declined, ultimately leading to his departure from Red Bull at the end of the year. Throughout the 2025 season, neither Liam Lawson nor Yuki Tsunoda managed to reach the podium. However, at the beginning of this year, Hadjar was given the opportunity to race alongside Verstappen. The Frenchman achieved his maiden podium with the team in Monaco, finishing third, and yesterday added another third-place finish in Baku, marking Red Bull's first double podium since April 21, 2024.
