Red Bull boss Laurent Mekies confirmed in Baku that Isak Hadjar has a “long-term contract” with the team, a clarification necessitated by the confusion surrounding the announcement of the team's driver lineup for next year.

On Wednesday, Red Bull announced that Hadjar would remain with the team for the 2027 season, so he will begin his second consecutive campaign as Max Verstappen's teammate.
When asked about the duration of his contract with Red Bull, Hadjar responded: “I don't know,” which fueled speculation that his future with the former world champions was uncertain.
“Isak has been part of Red Bull for a long time,” Mekies explained. “This means we have a long-term contract with him, as he was also part of our young driver development program. We activated a clause in his contract to keep him with us for the 2027 season.”
“The decision to keep Isak was really easy. We discussed it several times throughout the season; he had a very strong first half of the season.”

“Isak possesses excellent speed and has integrated very successfully into the team. He moved to the UK very quickly, is at our Milton Keynes base every other week, and something else that's very important – he progresses during races. He's performing better and better, and this decision was truly easy.”
