Real Sociedad got off to a flying start and took the lead inside three minutes when Kubo found the back of the net. The visitors continued to dictate the tempo, and Oskarsson doubled their advantage in the 26th minute. Malaga struggled defensively and failed to mount a response before the interval.

The hosts found a way back into the contest after the restart through Nino in the 54th minute. However, their comeback hopes were quickly dashed when Oyarzabal struck to make it 3-1 in the 59th minute. Martinez cut the deficit again seven minutes later, but Oyarzabal responded almost immediately to bag his second of the match and restore Sociedad's two-goal cushion.

Guedes put the game beyond reach in the 73rd minute, netting Real Sociedad's fifth. The Basque outfit wrapped up a commanding triumph at La Rosaleda to maintain their strong league momentum, while the defeat compounded Malaga's early-season struggles as they continue to search for their first league victory.
