Real Sociedad claimed their first victory in this season's Europa League main stage with a resounding 6-0 thrashing of Lillestrøm in Norway, marking the most emphatic win across European competitions this week. Lillestrøm are also one of Levski's upcoming opponents in the tournament, with the two sides set to clash in Sofia on December 10.

The La Liga outfit proved to be on a completely different level to their modest Nordic hosts. The Spaniards effectively wrapped up the contest before the break, firing three goals in the space of around eight minutes. Left-back Sergio Gómez (25', 27') struck a surprise quick-fire brace, before Luka Sučić (33') quickly added a third.

Lillestrøm then squandered a 50th-minute penalty through Thomas Lehne Olsen, extinguishing any lingering hopes of a comeback.

Orri Óskarsson (64') got on the scoresheet in the second half before Luka Sučić (72') grabbed his second of the night. Arsen Zakharyan (80') rounded off the rout late on.

In the next round in two weeks' time, the Basque side will host Lyon, while Lillestrøm are set to welcome Viktoria Plzeň.
