Real Madrid is expected to be highly active in the summer transfer market. Beyond the potential return of some players, the club has reportedly set two primary objectives: strengthening the central defense and the midfield, according to the latest reports from Spain.

Despite their victory over Alaves, Real Madrid remains far from securing the league title and is highly likely to conclude a second consecutive season without a trophy. Given this situation, the club's management plans significant activity this summer, both in terms of outgoing and incoming players. In fact, it's still unclear who will be Real Madrid's coach next season.

The days of players like Eduardo Camavinga and Gonzalo Garcia at the club might be numbered. They are not the only ones, and the list of departures could expand if offers arrive that can fund new acquisitions.

According to journalist Jorge Picón, Real Madrid has identified two priority positions: central defense and midfield. Beyond the potential return of Victor Muñoz and Nico Paz, for whom the club holds buy-back options, these are the primary focuses for the management.

Changes are anticipated in the heart of the defense. David Alaba and Antonio Rüdiger's contracts are expiring, although the German might extend his deal. Furthermore, Raul Asensio could also depart, and Eder Militão's injuries have made central defense one of the team's weak points. Consequently, a significant investment might be made, with Nico Schlotterbeck's name prominently mentioned.

In midfield, after failing to sign replacements for the departed Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, Real Madrid lacks depth and has had to rely on academy players, such as Thiago Pitarh. Moreover, despite the possible return of Pico Paz, a potential sale of Eduardo Camavinga would compel the management to make a substantial investment in a central midfielder.
