Real Madrid will not be signing Enzo Fernández. The 'Royal Club' announced this in an official statement, responding to comments made by his representative, Javier Pastore, who claimed that "Madrid likes Enzo, and Enzo likes Madrid." These remarks did not sit well with the Spanish giant's management, prompting them to issue a statement denying any negotiations with the player.
"Regarding the information and statements that have appeared in recent days concerning alleged interest from Real Madrid in player Enzo Fernández, the club wishes to state that it has not taken any action, neither direct nor indirect, aimed at signing the aforementioned footballer, and furthermore, has no intention of pursuing such an operation."
"Real Madrid wishes to express its utmost respect for Enzo Fernández, a great footballer whose career and qualities are well known, as well as for Chelsea, a club with whom we maintain excellent institutional relations. It is precisely out of the respect that a club like Chelsea deserves, and due to the principles of institutional loyalty that have always guided Real Madrid's actions, that the club deems it necessary to categorically refute speculations that are unfounded and do not correspond to reality. Real Madrid regrets that, despite the clarity of the facts and the absence of any action on the part of the club, information continues to be disseminated that does not correspond to reality and only contributes to creating confusion among fans and unnecessarily harming the clubs and individuals involved."
On Mourinho's List
The authoritative publication "Marca" continues to assert that Enzo Fernández was one of the midfield players on José Mourinho's list, as he looks to strengthen his squad with a central defender and another midfielder. The Argentine from Chelsea and Matheus Fernandes were the preferred options, but ultimately, neither will end up at the 'Royal Club'. The former was rejected by Madrid, while the latter signed with Tottenham. The value of both potential deals was estimated at around 100 million euros. Fernández himself is currently part of the Argentina national team at the World Cup.
