Kylian Mbappé is suffering from a "hyperextension of the posterior capsule of his left knee." Real Madrid confirmed this in an official medical statement following examinations the forward underwent at the Valdebebas sports complex.

The Frenchman sustained the injury in the second half of the Nations League match against Turkey, precisely in the sequence where he scored the only goal of the game. Mbappé shot with his right foot but injured his left knee. This immediately caused concern for both the French national team, who promptly released him, and in Madrid, where they hoped to have him available after the international break.

The good news for both France and Real Madrid is that Mbappé is expected to be sidelined for only about two weeks – between 10 and 12 days.

The injury is to his left knee – the same joint that caused him so many problems between December and March. This time, the injury only puts his participation in doubt for the next La Liga match after the break, on October 10th at the Bernabéu against Villarreal. However, given the projected recovery period, there's a strong likelihood he will be fit to play.

At Real Madrid, the news of Mbappé's injury was not well-received, despite it being less severe than initially feared, according to "Marca." Los Blancos are concerned about their international players, especially after Ibrahima Konaté also picked up an injury with France before Mbappé. Meanwhile, Morocco's coach, Mohamed Ouahbi, admitted that Brahim Díaz was out of the squad due to discomfort but remains with the camp, hoping to recover for the next match.
