AC Milan's Portuguese winger, Rafael Leão, was reportedly offered to Tottenham Hotspur, but the club, led by Roberto De Zerbi, has shown no immediate interest in acquiring the forward, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Portuguese international himself has made it clear this summer that he is open to a move, stating in several interviews that he has given his all for the "Rossoneri" and is ready for a new challenge. Leão suggested that the English Premier League and Spanish La Liga might be better suited to his playing style. However, finding a club willing to meet even his reduced asking price of 60 million euros has proven to be a significant hurdle.
While reports surfaced suggesting Tottenham's interest in the Portuguese star, Fabrizio Romano indicates the opposite is true. In fact, it was Leão's representatives who approached the "Spurs," but the London club was reportedly unenthusiastic about the prospect of signing the winger.
A parting of ways appears to be mutually desired, as Leão's contract expires in June 2028, and Milan has no intention of offering him an extension, aiming instead to offload his high salary. This sentiment is further reinforced by new coach Ruben Amorim's comments, who stated that the "ideal" position for Christian Pulisic is on the left side of the attacking trio. This is precisely the position currently occupied by Leão, which has forced the US national team star to play on the right.
Currently, the only concrete interest in Leão comes from Benfica and Galatasaray.
