France suffered a high-scoring 4-6 defeat to England in the battle for third place at the World Cup. A loss that didn't sit well with many, especially Adrien Rabiot, who didn't shy away from leveling harsh accusations against his teammates.

The midfielder, who started against the English, didn't hesitate to criticize his teammates' attitude, especially in the first half, when France was trailing by a significant 0-4 before the break:

"Our start in the first half was shameful. I witnessed behavior from some players that I had never seen before. It's disappointing because this was our last match where we could have left a good impression of our performance in the tournament," Rabiot commented.

"There's great disappointment after the loss to Spain, but we had to finish the job and couldn't afford to let our guard down like that," the Milan midfielder continued.

Rabiot revealed what they discussed at halftime in an attempt to turn the situation around: "We talked at halftime and agreed that we needed to show some pride. Things improved significantly in the second half, as the attitude displayed in the first half was unacceptable."

"As for the rest, we must commend the coach, Guy (Stéphan), Franck (Ravio), Cyril (Moine), who did tremendous work and brought this team back to the top along with all the players. We would have liked to finish with a win to give the coach a better send-off, but that doesn't tarnish the image he has among all French people," Rabiot added.
