Nigerian albums of 2015: the superb, the bad and the unsatisfying [Video]

A task force of music authorities have convened to evaluate the albums released this year.

A panel of music experts have come together to review Nigerian albums released this year based on quality, originality, lyrics, marketing and production.

This group put together by Pulse Nigeria was made of radio personalities Osi Suave (of the Beat FM), Shade Ladipo, entertainment lawyer Akinyemi Ayinoluwa Esq., Pulse Music Editor Joey Akan, Pulse Senior Associate and resident hip-hop head Ayomide Tayo, talent manager Agwu Obinna and Pulse Nigeria’s Editor-In-Chief,  Osagie Alonge as the moderator.

The panel reviewed 29 albums by artists across different genres of music.

While the panelists did not see eye-to-eye with regards some albums, they did agree when it came to some projects.

“Dope” was the word they  used to describe iLLBliss’ third studio album “Powerful”.

The Collectiv3” LP was praised for it’s impressive collaboration and synergy between all the artists.

While discussing Wande Coal’s “Wanted”, some of the panelists broke into song and started dancing to his hit single ‘Ashimapeyin’.

They did however expressed disappointment and lack of growth on Olamide’s “Eyan Mayweather” album.
