Sunday's Ligue 1 clash between reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon is likely to be postponed, according to French media reports.

The uncertainty stems from ongoing unrest across France, particularly in the capital. According to L'Équipe, pushing the fixture back by 24 hours to Monday is being considered, though talks remain ongoing.

Fresh mass protests are expected across the country this weekend, but police authorities have indicated they are well-prepared with a dedicated security operation in place.

The PSG-Lyon fixture is categorized as one of the highest-risk matches in French football. To complicate matters, several other major sporting events are scheduled in Paris over the weekend, including an American football matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New Orleans Saints at the Stade de France.

Ligue 1 has already altered its schedule for Matchday 8, shifting the match between Toulouse and Troyes from Saturday to Sunday.
