Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning champions, returned to winning ways in Ligue 1 with a dominant 3-0 home victory in a match from the 26th round of the French championship. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (13', 50') and Désiré Doué (37') found the back of the net. VAR, however, disallowed a goal by Louis Leroux for the visitors in the first half.

The Parisians had a lengthy break of over two weeks due to their Champions League commitments and suffered a disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Lyon three days prior. However, with today's success, Luis Enrique's squad managed to restore their four-point lead at the top of the table.

The champions were under pressure to win, especially after Lens' success a few days earlier, which had narrowed the gap to just one point. But after 29 matches played for both teams, the champions once again hold a comfortable lead.

As expected, the hosts started with an aggressive press, earning a penalty just over ten minutes into the game. The decision came after Ali Yousef Mousrati of Nantes handled the ball in his own penalty area. Following a brief VAR review, head referee Clément Turpin pointed to the spot. Kvaratskhelia stepped up and the Georgian made no mistake.

Just five minutes later, the situation could have become dire for the visitors when Ousmane Dembélé reacted sharply to a corner kick inside the box, but Nantes' goalkeeper Anthony Lopes made an excellent save.

Subsequently, the visitors even managed to seize the initiative for a short period, and the result was almost immediate. In the 22nd minute, Leroux sent the ball into the net, guarded by Matvey Safonov, after connecting with a pass. However, VAR intervened once more in favor of the champions, disallowing the goal.

This seemed to deflate the visitors, who once again ceded the initiative to their opponents. Seven minutes before halftime, Désiré Doué extended the lead to 2-0 for the Parisians.

In the 43rd minute, Ablin missed a golden opportunity to bring Nantes back into the game, but Safonov dove and saved, preserving his team's comfortable lead going into the break.

Immediately after the restart, Kvaratskhelia made the champions' lead a classic three-goal margin, effectively killing off any suspense. This time, the Georgian controlled the ball in the penalty area and fired point-blank past Lopes, who had no chance to intervene.

From that point on, everything was clear; it was no longer a question of whether the Parisians would win, but by how many goals. In the 55th minute, Hakimi's shot sailed just inches wide of the right post.

In the 60th minute, Kvaratskhelia could have completed his hat-trick, but Lopes saved his header.

In the 70th minute, substitute Fabián Ruiz attempted to surprise the goalkeeper with a quick shot from the edge of the penalty area, but his effort rebounded off the crossbar.

In added time, Frédéric Guilbert missed an opportunity to score a consolation goal for Nantes. Ultimately, Luis Enrique and his squad celebrated a commanding victory, which helped the team establish a four-point lead with five matches remaining in the season.
