Paris Saint-Germain and European Club Association (ECA) chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has urged UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin to stand for another term during an ECA assembly in Copenhagen, AFP reports.
"Football needs great leaders like you and, on behalf of more than 900 clubs in the association, we urge you to run for office again next year," Al-Khelaifi said. Čeferin was first elected as UEFA president in 2016, earning re-election in 2019 and 2023, and is yet to announce if he will seek another term after previously ruling out the possibility.
Speaking to the British podcast The Rest is Politics in late May, Čeferin dismissed any speculation regarding a bid for the FIFA presidency, where Gianni Infantino currently remains unopposed.
