PSG currently leads the league table, but only by a single point ahead of this season's surprise package, Lens. Meanwhile, Nantes is among the teams battling relegation, sitting second from bottom with just 20 points.

Paris Saint-Germain is coming off a surprising 2-1 loss to Lyon in Ligue 1 over the weekend, which snapped the team's six-game winning streak across all competitions. The Parisians had previously secured two consecutive victories against Liverpool in the Champions League – 2-0 at home and 2-0 at Anfield. In the league, PSG had been in excellent form with convincing wins over Toulouse (3-1) and Nice (4-0).

Nantes is currently on a run of three consecutive draws – 1-1 against Brest, and 0-0 against both Auxerre and Metz. Before this, "Les Canaris" suffered two straight defeats – 3-2 to Strasbourg and 1-0 to Angers.

Paris Saint-Germain dominates Ligue 1, holding the top spot with 63 points from 28 matches. The Parisians boast an impressive goal difference, having scored 62 and conceded just 25. Luis Enrique's squad possesses both the best attack and the best defence in the league.

Nantes finds itself in the relegation zone, occupying 17th place with only 20 points from 29 matches. "Les Canaris" have serious issues in attack, with just 25 goals scored, and a leaky defence that has conceded 46 times.

Paris Saint-Germain will have to manage without midfielder Vitinha, who is injured and unavailable for the upcoming match. The good news for Luis Enrique is that the team's star, Warren Zaïre-Emery, is fit to play and is expected to be a key figure in midfield.

For Nantes, the injury list includes midfielder Bahmed Deuff and defender Tailel Tati. Matthis Abline will be the main hope for "Les Canaris" in attack.

The last time the two teams met was on August 17, 2025, in a Ligue 1 match where Paris Saint-Germain secured a narrow 1-0 away victory over Nantes. Prior to that, in April 2025, the clash between these two sides ended in a 1-1 draw at the home of "Les Canaris".

The most recent encounter at the Parc des Princes between PSG and Nantes also finished in a 1-1 draw in November 2024.
