The "Young Eagles" fought valiantly throughout the entire game, but they simply couldn't overcome the American U17 "dream team." While they managed to keep the score somewhat competitive in the first half, the Serbian basketball players completely faltered in the third quarter, allowing the Americans to pull away decisively and seal the victory in the blink of an eye.

Following the match, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić also congratulated the silver-medalist "Young Eagles."

I congratulate our brilliant cadets on their magnificent achievement and the silver medal won at the World Championship in Turkey! Serbia is a basketball nation, and you have once again shown why the whole world respects and recognizes us as a nation of champions. This is not just the success of one generation, but a confirmation that the future of Serbian basketball possesses strength, character, and a winning spirit. We are proud of each and every one of you, of your effort, discipline, courage, and the way you carried the Serbian crest. Continue to dream big dreams and turn them into great victories. "Young Eagles" Roar "Bože Pravde"

Before the final showdown, a truly beautiful scene unfolded, showcasing the immense pride the "Young Eagles" felt for their accomplishment; all Serbian national team players sang the anthem "Bože Pravde" in unison, reaffirming their deep love for their country.

It's worth remembering that Serbia had a rough start to the World Championship, losing to Australia in the first round, but they then began to string together triumphs. In the knockout stage, the "Young Eagles" first defeated New Zealand, then Lithuania, before celebrating a semi-final victory against Turkey.

This propelled them into the grand final, setting up a clash with the United States national team, a squad that had never suffered a defeat in its history.

Specifically in this World Championship, the Americans had been crushing everyone by roughly 40-50 points. France, Japan, Italy, Cameroon, Puerto Rico, Australia – all of them took a beating. The French fared the best, losing by "only" 31 points. They reached the final by dismantling Australia 114:65, while Serbia overcame Turkey 76:71.
