Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp launched a scathing attack on his old club following their goalless draw with Everton. The Spurs failed to score in any of their first four Premier League matches this season, an unprecedented feat in the club's history. Roberto De Zerbi's side has managed just two points and sits at the bottom of the table, despite spending around £300 million on new signings over the summer.
"To not score a goal in the Premier League for six hours of football is absolutely disgraceful, no matter how you look at it. Today they defended better, the central defenders were better than in previous games. But it just wasn't enough. How is it possible not to score a goal for six hours of football? They don't have the right balance in the squad. There are so many problems to solve just to score one goal," Redknapp stated after the match.
The goalless draw leaves Tottenham winless and without a goal in their opening four league fixtures, with pressure continuing to mount on De Zerbi and the team. Spurs will look to break their negative streak in their upcoming League Cup match against Liverpool, followed by a home fixture against Aston Villa in the Premier League. Everton, meanwhile, remains unbeaten since the start of the season and will be aiming for another positive result in their next game.
