The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) unveiled its vision this Saturday for the 2026 World Cup, a tournament they are determined to win. "Portugal will deliver" is the powerful message conveyed in a promotional video, depicting a Portuguese ship named "Esperança" (Hope) navigating a fierce storm in the "Portuguese sea," yet emerging unscathed.
This video is described as "the first part of an epic story," with "the outcome of this journey" promised in a second video set for release in June, just before the World Cup kicks off on June 11th.
For this 2026 World Cup, the message transcends mere sporting results. It's not just about winning, but about showcasing to the world what we believe in as a nation.
The FPF further explains that this message "is a global declaration about the identity, culture, and resilience of an entire country." It's "the rallying cry that brings Portuguese football to the world, transforming every match into a global invitation to discover the country, its culture, and its unparalleled way of celebrating life, both on and off the pitch," the statement reads.
The video's release also comes just hours before Portugal's friendly match in Mexico, scheduled to kick off at 2:00 AM tomorrow morning.
