'The Pols and the People' by Tolu Ayeni
A jumbo country, full of goofy people, who relish penury
Who live in Eden, but toil and plant in the wild
The pols come with prospect, deviously, they relish luxury
The pols sang and drummed, the people danced
Tongues cutely misleading, pols, the people adhere
Dancing to their dirge made obscure at the crusades
They dance out of folly and fall for the credible fish-lure
They return home, gratified, by the pols vileness
The pols newly elated and opulent, ride in black box
Folly and credulous, the people enjoy climax so bitter
When they are quenched and put in a tight box
They begin to roar painfully like a tiger
Again comes, a homophonic dirge, made occult, by the politicians
Again follows, a dance, a perfect déjà vu, by the population.
