'Every Man Should Know' by Ahmad Abdullah

A man should have

Many sources of income,

Stocks, (either Alive or Capital)

Some of which no woman should know,

Not even his mother.

He should know when to overvalue himself

Or undervalue himself.

A man should have

Honor for his skin

Time for his kith and kin

A youth he never leaves behind....

a past vivid enough to remind him

Where he is coming from and going to.

A man should,

Be wary of all women, especially one who has,

A set of screwdrivers and a cordless drill,

He should have a friend that can lie for him

and one that always tell him the truth.

A man should have

A proper suit, with a tie to match

And proper shoes and a handkerchief

He should have cologne,

To appeal to any woman,

Especially the one that knows how to cry

And if he can’t have these things

He should cloth himself in humility,

And groom his self to be hardworking

A man should have

A niche he calls his own,

he should know how to cook

At least one proper meal,

He should know how to use a fork and knife

Especially if he doesn’t have a wife,

And if he can’t have these things

He must know how to wash both hands.

Every man should know...

how to steal a woman’s heart

how not to quit a job,

he should know

Breaking up with a lover,

and confronting a friend

Can ruin him and the friendship

He should always try harder

till walking away is the last option.

Every man should know...

that he can’t change the size of his phallus

but the depth of his skill

or the nature of his spouse

He must know how to bed his woman

And how to live with one

He should know how to manage

His mother and his spouse

A man should

Read at least five books,

Before he visits the bedtime of a cranky child,

He should know about God,

He should know about power and wars,

And about a woman scorned.

Every man should know...

how to tell a great lie,

How and when to beg

When to make promises

When to be resolute or flexible

But wisely,

When to forgive and be merciful

Every man should know...

whom he can invest his secrets

whom he can't,

and prepare for when they will be divulged

every man should know...

where to go...

be it to his bed where sleep always beckons

or a savvy sport that challenges his mind

when his intellect needs a boosting…

Every man should know...

that he can accomplish all things

Especially with the right woman.
