Playoff Scenarios: Here's Crvena Zvezda's Head-to-Head Record Against EuroLeague Playoff Contenders /PHOTO/

A loss to Partizan in Round 35 of the EuroLeague has severely complicated Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet's race for the playoffs.

Currently, Crvena Zvezda sits in ninth place with a 19-16 record. With Maccabi and Dubai, the two teams just outside the play-in spots, only one win behind, Saša Obradović's squad hasn't yet secured a playoff berth. They'll need to push for victories in all three remaining games (against Paris, ASVEL, and Real Madrid). If they manage to win all three, Zvezda would not only cement their play-in position but could also potentially climb into the top six, securing a direct spot in the playoffs.

However, beyond Zvezda, there are at least seven other serious contenders for the playoffs: Monaco (19-16), Barcelona (20-15), Panathinaikos (20-15), Zalgiris (21-14), Hapoel (21-13) with a game in hand, and both Valencia and Real (both 22-13).

This means Crvena Zvezda could easily end up tied with some of these teams, in which case head-to-head records would be the deciding factor.

As it stands, if Zvezda were to finish with the same number of wins and losses as Monaco, they would rank above them (having won both head-to-head matchups). The same applies to Panathinaikos (with a +10 point differential in their favor) and Hapoel (+6). Furthermore, if Zvezda wins all three of their remaining games and Real loses all three, the red-and-whites would also hold a superior head-to-head record against the Madrid giants.

On the other hand, Valencia, Zalgiris, and Barcelona are teams Zvezda couldn't overtake if their records aligned. Barcelona and Valencia both defeated the red-and-whites in both of their matchups, while Zalgiris holds a positive point differential against them.
