The black-and-whites' head coach stressed that he was far from pleased with his team's performance, though they managed to find their rhythm in the closing stages. He also took the opportunity to praise Spartak several times.

"I'm happy that we won, but I'm not happy with our performance because we need to compete much better. I really like how Spartak play, I have immense respect for their coach, and they play very, very good basketball. We knew it wouldn't be easy—firstly because Spartak are in good form, and secondly, after the derby we probably lacked a sharp focus coming into this game, and we're facing serious issues... We didn't control the tempo, we struggled defending the pick-and-roll, in one-on-one defense, and with our ball movement against Spartak's great defense. In the end, we finally played to our standard over the last six or seven minutes and got the win, but it's clear that Spartak deserved the victory as well." - Joan Peñarroya

Partizan will face Cluj in the next round of the ABA League, preceded by EuroLeague fixtures against ASVEL and Zalgiris.
