Armoni Brooks was Partizan's top transfer target even before the window opened, and it seemed he was on the verge of joining the Belgrade club. However, ASVEL intervened, ultimately signing the former Milan guard for an annual salary of approximately 2.5 million euros.
Yet, ASVEL soon faced significant financial difficulties, leading to the departure of their star player, Sylvain Francisco. Eventually, it was decided that the French club couldn't afford Brooks either, opening the door for a potential return to Partizan.
Real Madrid also entered the race for the American guard, becoming Partizan's main rival at one point, which led the Serbian club to withdraw its pursuit of Brooks. In a complete turn of events, Armoni ultimately signed with Valencia.
According to Spanish journalist Chema de Lucas, Valencia has secured a major reinforcement for the new season. Brooks will play in Spain on a one-year loan from ASVEL, after which the French club will have the option to retain him if they can secure the necessary funds.
