Paris FC secured a thrilling 4-3 home victory over Rennes to climb to second place in the Ligue 1 standings on 14 points, level with Paris Saint-Germain, Lille, and Monaco.
Maxime Lopez netted a first-half brace for the hosts, either side of a strike from Esteban Lepaul for the visitors. Lepaul leveled the score in the 74th minute from the penalty spot, but the home side regained the lead just two minutes later through Lassine Sinayoko.
Rennes fought back once again as Lepaul converted a second penalty to complete his hat-trick. However, in the seventh minute of stoppage time, another spot-kick—confidently dispatched by Sinayoko—sealed a dramatic victory for Paris FC.
The defeat prevented Rennes from claiming top spot in the table, leaving the Brittany outfit in fifth place on 13 points.
Elsewhere, Auxerre secured a 3-1 away victory against Le Havre, courtesy of a goal in each half from Danny Namaso.
Marseille cruised to a commanding 5-2 win at Angers, moving up to ninth in the standings.
