The "Gauchos" secured their spot in the World Cup semi-finals after overcoming Switzerland 3-1 in extra time. Their opponents in the battle for a place in the final will be England, who also advanced after defeating Norway 2-1 following an additional period of play.

"We knew exactly what kind of matches awaited us, and we fought until the very end. From day one, we've strived to show unity – first among ourselves, and then to the world, so people can feel a connection with the team. I've always imagined playing in a World Cup and facing England. I've dreamed of this match my entire life. It will certainly be very tough," Paredes stated, as quoted by "Mundo Deportivo."

"I urge people to continue believing in us and supporting us," he added.

The midfielder clarified that his substitution in the match against Switzerland was forced due to cramps. However, he assured that the physical discomfort would not prevent him from participating in the semi-final clash with England, scheduled for July 15th in Atlanta, USA.
