PAOK continues its serious reinforcements for the upcoming season, with experienced guard Naz Mitrou-Long (32) becoming the Thessaloniki club's newest signing on Friday.

The Canadian guard has inked a three-year deal with PAOK, and there's no doubt his extensive EuroLeague experience will be invaluable for the black-and-whites, who are embarking on an ambitious project under new coach Andrea Trinchieri.

A significant advantage for the Thessaloniki-based team is that Mitrou-Long also holds a Greek passport, meaning he won't occupy a foreign player spot in the domestic league.

The Ontario native spent last season with Italian club Napoli, where he averaged 13.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game in the Italian championship. Prior to that, he played two years for Olympiacos and also featured in the EuroLeague for Zalgiris and Milan.

He began his European career with Brescia in the 2021/22 season, while in the NBA, he was part of the Utah Jazz and Indiana Pacers. He played a mere 20 games in the world's premier basketball league.

PAOK has already bolstered its roster with Rikuan Gray, Kyle Alexander, Marcus Foster, and Trevor Huddins. There's also talk of Nick Calathes potentially joining from Partizan. Speculation suggested the experienced point guard was offered $1,800,000 for two seasons, but Calathes has reportedly deferred his final decision until after the current season concludes.

Another recent target for the Thessaloniki side is Fenerbahçe center Khem Birch, though their city rivals, Aris, have also reportedly entered the race for the Canadian big man.
