Indiana Pacers wing Ben Sheppard is set to be sidelined indefinitely after suffering a knee injury. The team has officially listed the player on the injury report with a torn meniscus in his left knee.
Ahead of the clash against the Dallas Mavericks, Indiana head coach Rick Carlisle provided an update on his player's physical condition.
"Ben is going to miss some time. The timeline for his recovery is still unclear. It might not be a long layoff, but at this stage, we just don't know for sure," the head coach said.
Sheppard sustained the injury during the season opener against the Pelicans, in which the Pacers edged out a 123-120 victory. Before being forced off the floor, he contributed 3 points in 12 minutes of play.
