More than 75% of Premier League fans disapprove of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system, according to a recent survey conducted by the Football Supporters' Association (FSA). The online poll, which ran from February 26 to March 23, gathered responses from over 8,000 individuals. The study revealed that 75.7% of supporters are against VAR, with a staggering 91.7% believing the system has diminished the spontaneous joy of celebrating a goal in the stands.
"These figures are consistent with our previous survey in 2021, where fans expressed reservations about the introduction of VAR. We have shared these results with the Premier League and the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL). We anticipate an open dialogue with them regarding the findings of our research," stated the FSA.
