Just sixty seconds after Partizan's defeat to Dubai in the first game of the ABA League final series, the black-and-whites' president, Ostoja Mijailović, took to social media.
In his message, Mijailović announced that he would soon become the president of the ABA League and would "restore the integrity of the competition."
In a few days, I will assume the role of ABA League president. One of my first priorities will be to establish the full integrity of the competition. All those who have put personal interests before the league's interests will have to face consequences. We have built the ABA League for 25 years, and we will not allow anyone to undermine it. It remains unclear what Mijailović was precisely targeting with this statement. However, it appears he is either dissatisfied with the officiating and the work of the ABA League's refereeing committee, or with Dubai's decision to return to the United Arab Emirates after playing their semi-final against Budućnost in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
