Olympiacos Owner Slaps Politician, Then Gets Beaten and Leaves Arena with Torn Shirt: Footage of EuroLeague Final Brawl in VIP Box Emerges /VIDEO
Unbelievable scenes unfolded at the EuroLeague final between Olympiacos and Real Madrid! Beyond the on-court drama, complete chaos erupted in the stands where a fierce verbal altercation broke out between Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis and Grigoris Dimitriadis, a former close advisor to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Initial footage only showed the aftermath of the conflict – an exchange of insults, Marinakis' torn shirt, and traces of blood. However, a new video reveals the entire sequence of events from the very beginning.
The video clearly shows Evangelos Marinakis descending the stairs towards his seat. Upon spotting Grigoris Dimitriadis by the railing, he approaches him, whispers something in his ear, and then strikes him across the face with an open hand. This moment triggered absolute pandemonium.
Dimitriadis, the former advisor to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, immediately retaliated. He struck Marinakis, tearing his shirt, and continued to shout and spit in his direction. Security intervention prevented further escalation of the physical confrontation.
Although the situation appeared to be calming down, one of the bystanders then hit Dimitriadis with a scarf, after which the individuals finally dispersed. Marinakis, who, in addition to Olympiacos, also owns English club Nottingham Forest and Portuguese side Rio Ave, promptly left the arena.
It's worth noting that Olympiacos secured their fourth EuroLeague title.
