Singer claims he is the best music video director in Africa

During a recent interview on HipTV's 'The Gist', hosted by Emmanuel Ugolee, the 'Yahooze'singerHipTV was a guest alongside rapper Eedris Abdulkareem wherethey were discussing the music industry and how being strong-willed is required to make it in the industry.

During the course of the conversation, Olu Maintain boldly stated that he is the best music video director in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

This statement has sparked lots of replies from viewers of which majority are appalled by such statement uttered by Mr Maintain.

The singer has been being trolled by music fans on social media. While some outrightly called him a joker, others gave him a benefit of a doubt by asking him to tell them which videos he has directed.

Olu Maintain rose to fame with his smash hit 'Yahooze' in 2007. If we were to judge him by his statement, we would of course have to look at his music videos such as 'Cinderella', 'Nawti', 'Olu in Brazil' and his latest release 'Excuse my French' amongst his other videos and assume he is the brain behind most if not all of them, and use that to weigh his bold statement.

Would you count him as the best or one of the best video directors in Africa in your opinion if we were to judge based on his videos.
