This return comes three years after the end of his playing career with the senior team. After 15 seasons representing the Blaugrana emblem, Busquets moved to Inter Miami, where he played for two and a half seasons before announcing his retirement from the pitch.

A product of La Masia, he broke into the first team in the 2008/09 season, quickly becoming a fundamental piece in one of the most successful eras in the club's history. Considered one of the greatest defensive midfielders of all time, his playing style was defined by elegance, intelligence, and an unparalleled ability for tactical interpretation.

With a total of 722 appearances, Busquets ranks as the third-highest appearance maker for Barcelona. His trophy cabinet reflects his importance, boasting 32 titles, including nine La Liga titles, seven Copa del Rey trophies, three UEFA Champions League titles, and three FIFA Club World Cups. Representing the Spanish national team, he was part of a historic generation that won the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012.

Now, after almost two decades at the elite level of football, Busquets begins a new chapter at the club, aiming to "contribute to the training and development of young talents" in Barcelona's B team.
