Obert Transfer on the Horizon? Millions Offered for Slovakian International, but Italians Say No

French football club RC Lens has shown serious interest in Slovakian international defender Adam Obert. They were prepared to pay approximately 10 million euros, including bonuses, for the Cagliari Calcio player, but the Italian club rejected their initial offer. This was reported by CagliariNews24, citing Tuttomercatoweb.

Lens, however, isn't ready to throw in the towel. Sources indicate they're preparing an improved offer, building on their initial bid of eight million euros plus a potential two million in bonuses. Cagliari values the 22-year-old Slovakian highly, and it would likely take a significantly larger sum to persuade them to sell. According to the specialized portal Transfermarkt, Obert's market value currently stands at seven million euros.

Obert arrived in Sardinia in the summer of 2021 from Sampdoria Genoa, where he had been part of their youth academy. He gradually broke into the first team and featured in 35 Serie A matches last season. His consistent performances have reportedly caught the eye of several foreign clubs, according to the Italian portal.
