The Serbian superstar finished the game with 40 points, 13 assists, and eight rebounds, taking complete control in the crucial final minutes. Christian Braun provided valuable support with 21 points, while Jamal Murray (15 points, 10 assists), Aaron Gordon (15 points), and Cameron Johnson (17 points) rounded out the champions' offensive firepower.

It was Gordon who sent the game into overtime, tying the score with 6.2 seconds left in regulation, and then forced Victor Wembanyama into a missed shot on the final defensive possession. The French Spurs star had a stellar outing with 34 points, 18 rebounds, seven assists, and five blocks, yet San Antonio suffered only their third loss in their last 30 games.

Stephon Castle added 20 points, while Devin Vassell and Julian Champagnie each contributed 18. The Spurs appeared to be in control, even leading by as many as 13 points in the second quarter, and with a Wembanyama basket at 9:08 remaining, they held a 107-96 advantage. Up until then, they had a 48-2 record when holding a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter — now it stands at 48-3, with two of those losses coming against Denver.

The Nuggets completely shifted the momentum in the closing stages, holding San Antonio to 33% shooting from the field in the final 14 minutes (including overtime) and outscoring them 40-27 during that span. Jokic scored 16 of his 40 points in this period, while Wembanyama was limited to 1-of-4 shooting.
