Norway faces an unexpected problem: A key item is missing nationwide ahead of the quarter-finals

Norwegian municipalities and public viewing organizers are scrambling to find large screens ahead of Saturday's FIFA World Cup quarter-final between Norway and England.

The demand for communal viewing of the historic match is so immense that available equipment is practically non-existent, even in neighboring Denmark and Sweden.

"I'm swamped with calls," Morten Reffhaug from To-Be-More told Norwegian television NRK. He stated that after Norway's victory over Brazil, he received requests for large-screen rentals late into the night.

However, all equipment is already booked, and he cannot secure new units quickly enough. Kristoffer Haukis from Lydteamet confirmed a similar situation, noting that no one anticipated such a problem, and very little time remains to resolve it.

Organizers have therefore reached out to companies in Denmark and Sweden. "If you need a large screen from Denmark or Sweden, it naturally incurs additional costs," Mikkel Rodkjoer, director of Profox, told Danish television DR.

He added, however, that while his company has enough screens, they cannot install them. "The match is played in the middle of the summer holidays, and there isn't enough equipment and personnel available for installation. This means we would need additional staff," he explained.

Norway will play its first-ever World Cup quarter-final against England in Miami on Saturday at 11:00 PM CEST, DPA agency reported.
