Norway's star player, Andreas Schjelderup, described some of the referee's decisions during their loss to England as "a bit bitter," as the Scandinavians expressed their disappointment after being knocked out of the World Cup. England managed to come from behind against Norway to secure a spot in the World Cup semi-finals, but Jude Bellingham's equalizer sparked significant controversy.

The Norwegians entered the quarter-final as underdogs but surprisingly took the lead when Schjelderup unleashed an excellent shot from the flank that hit the post and flew into the net, giving his team a shock advantage.

However, England responded with two goals from Jude Bellingham, who sealed the victory in extra time. His equalizer came at the end of the first half, but the Norwegian camp claimed the ball had touched one of the cables holding the camera above the pitch. According to FIFA rules, play should be stopped in such a case, but the organization dismissed allegations of contact.

In the second half, a foul was also called on Erling Haaland, leading to the disallowance of a goal by Torbjørn Heggem. These decisions left a sour taste for the Norwegians.

"Unfortunately, the small details didn't go our way; the odds were against us. Some of the referee's decisions left a bitter taste. If we had lost fair and square, it would have been different," commented Schjelderup.
