Eurohoops and Chema de Lucas dropped a bombshell on Saturday evening, reporting that Luca Vildoza is on the verge of joining Partizan.

It appears the deal is all but done, with the Argentinian expected to become a new member of the black-and-whites in the coming days. This presents a timely opportunity to recall Vildoza's past comments about playing in front of Red Star fans, and his stance on a potential move to Partizan.

It's not difficult, but it's special. I played against Red Star last year, and I felt good when they welcomed and applauded me. It feels special because it was my home for a year, and I have fond memories.Luca Vildoza

When asked if he would ever consider joining Partizan, Vildoza had a ready answer.

No, no chance. Never.Luca Vildoza

Luca Vildoza Nearing Partizan Move

According to Eurohoops and Spanish journalist Chema de Lucas, everything is set for Luca Vildoza's transfer to Partizan.

The Argentinian is on the brink of doing what is often considered taboo – donning the jerseys of both city rivals. This wouldn't be a first in his career, as Vildoza previously played for both Panathinaikos and Olympiacos. Should this move materialize, he would become the first player to represent the two biggest rivals in both Serbia and Greece.

It seems only the final details need to be ironed out, and we could soon see Vildoza in the black-and-white jersey of Belgrade. He's already accustomed to these colors, having played for Virtus Bologna last season.

Partizan has already officially announced four new signings, with Kevarius Hayes, Lamar Stevens, Alessandro Pajola, and Nikola Tanasković joining the 'Steamroller'.

As for Vildoza, he began his European career with Baskonia, where he played for five years until 2021. This was followed by a brief stint in the NBA, then a season with Crvena Zvezda in 2022/23, then in two Greek giants, while he was in Virtus for one season.
