Nigerians insult author on Facebook over her dreadlocks
This is Nnedi Okoroafor, Nigerian-American writer of fantasy, science fiction, and speculative fiction.
And her dreadlocks is major hair goals.
In case you haven't heard, Okorafor was insulted and attacked after she posted a picture of her dreadlocks on Facebook:
The picture was captioned:
"Answers: Yes, it's all real. About 19 years. To my knees. They're not heavy. I wash it as often as I want; probably more than u; I use lots of shampoo. No reason; my hair locked one day and I let it keep locking. Never been to a salon; I think they are a waste of money and time. I am not a terrorist; I believe in love. I am not a Rasta; I follow no religion. I don't smoke *anything*, nor do I drink alcohol."

The reply from Nigerians stunned Okoroafor a lot she had to write an open letter:
Nnedi Okroafor is an American-born daughter of Igbo Nigerian parents. Her novels and stories reflect both her West African heritage and her American life.
Okorafor is a 2001 graduate of the Clarion Writers Workshop in Lansing, Michigan, and holds a PhD in English from the University of Illinois, Chicago.
