UBA to distribute 24 thousand copies of 'Akata Witch' in 9 African countries
The United Bank for Africa partners with Cassava Republic to distribute 24,000 copies of award-winning Akata Witch retitled as 'What Sunny Saw in the Flames' by Nnedi Okoroafor in 9 African countries.
Award-winning Nigerian author, Nnedi Okorafor announced the move on Facebook, “I’m still breathless with glee about this amazing development,” she writes.
This is good news and we hope organizations and individuals will continue to distribute more African Literature books to help improve literacy skills. Congratulations to Nnedi Okroafor and the Cassava Republic team.
Born in America, Nnedi Okorafor is a Nigerian-American writer of fantasy, science fiction, and speculative fiction.
Also, last year we reported that the Swedish government partnered with several national organizations to distribute We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie to every 16-year-old in that country.
