Red Bull's Bulgarian star, Nikola Tsolov, has responded to comments from his Formula 2 team principal, who backed him for a move to Formula 1, as rumors of a potential seat at Racing Bulls continue to intensify.

F2 team owner Adrian Campos stated after Tsolov's stellar weekend at Silverstone earlier this summer that the Bulgarian "truly deserves" a chance to prove himself against the best. These comments, as the driver himself admitted, came as a surprise.
Tsolov's complete success in both the sprint and feature races during the British Grand Prix weekend helped him climb to the top of the championship standings. His progress is being closely monitored by several key figures in the sport.
Even Racing Bulls team principal, Alan Permane, recently stated: "To say he's on the team's radar would be an understatement. He's next in line, I think it's fair to say."
Quoted by Formula 1's official website this week, Tsolov reacted to Campos's words, which endorsed his jump to the top tier – most likely with Red Bull's junior team, where Arvid Lindblad was briefly his teammate. "It really means a lot. I wouldn't have expected him to say something like that, but we're like family, as I've always said," Tsolov shared.

"I'm grateful to have the opportunity to work with them because, for me, it's a key element in my career. As much as he says it, I also feel they make a difference for me," he added.
"Not just with car setups, but also with creating the right environment within the team, so I think that's something that doesn't get enough attention. There are teams that work very well on the car, but the environment isn't as good. For me, putting the driver in the right mental state can lead to what we're achieving this year."
Regarding Red Bull, Tsolov added: "They are obviously very happy with me, but we haven't discussed anything specific, there's nothing clear. They just tell me to keep doing what I'm doing, that I'm doing great, but honestly, there's nothing more to it than that."
"Of course, Red Bull themselves prepared me for everything that's happening now, and thanks to their help, I'm able to achieve these results. But we haven't reached a point where there's anything more. Right now, we're just focused on Formula 2."
"For me, it means a lot; obviously, it means people appreciate and believe in what I'm doing. I also believe in myself and truly feel that this year is great and I should deserve a chance," the Bulgarian driver continued.

"But in this sport, things are never certain, so it all comes down to taking advantage of every opportunity from now on and focusing on Formula 2, because that's the only thing that can truly help me progress up the ladder."
