In their penultimate game of the season, the Blue only offered resistance at the very beginning. After the first quarter, they trailed by a narrow 30:29, hinting at a close contest. However, any suspense quickly evaporated. Oklahoma managed only 23 points in the second period, while the Wolves seized the opportunity to build a double-digit lead.

The home team went into halftime with a commanding 66:52 lead. The second half brought no change in momentum. Although Oklahoma scored 29 points in the third quarter, Iowa maintained their rhythm and prevented their opponents from posing any serious threat. The Wolves entered the final quarter with a 97:81 advantage.

The final period was one to forget for the visitors. The Blue scored a mere 25 points, and at one point, the deficit stretched to a staggering 29 points. The Wolves completely outplayed their opponents, evidenced by Oklahoma spending the majority of the game in a deep double-digit hole.

A Glimmer of Hope - Nikola Topić

Despite his team's convincing defeat, the bright spot for the Oklahoma City Blue was young Serbian point guard Nikola Topić. He once again confirmed his role as the primary playmaker, recording an impressive double-double with 20 points and 10 assists.

Topić was exceptionally efficient in his shot selection, finishing the game with a high 58% field goal percentage. He consistently created open looks for his teammates and maintained the team's offensive rhythm, even when the score was unfavorable.

While the shooting percentages might not seem catastrophic at first glance, the difference in team play and the number of successful shots proved decisive.
