Following a subpar performance by his standards against Oklahoma City, Nikola Jokic bounced back in dominant fashion, racking up 35 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists for his first triple-double of the season to take down the visitors.

Remarkably, he was not even the game's leading scorer, as teammate Jamal Murray erupted for 45 points.

New Orleans got off to a flying start, taking the opening quarter 38-24 and putting Denver in danger of another early-season setback. The Nuggets struggled to find their rhythm in the second quarter as well, which the Pelicans also edged 35-33.

The visitors also took the third quarter 35-32, leaving Denver on the brink before an incredible turnaround. Jokic and Murray took complete control in the fourth, powering a 37-18 surge that miraculously forced overtime.

Carried by momentum and sheer quality, Denver comfortably closed out the five-minute extra period against a deflated Pelicans squad.

Trey Murphy led the way for the Pelicans with 26 points, six rebounds, and four assists, while Dejounte Murray finished four points behind him.

With this latest display, Nikola Jokic is now just 11 triple-doubles away from the all-time NBA record, making it only a matter of time before he reaches the top of the historic list.
