The Federal Government has declared tomorrow, January 1, 2016 as a public holiday to commemorate the beginning of the New Year.

This was disclosed via a statement released by the office of the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau.
The minister urged all Nigerians, regardless of their religion, to imbibe the spirit of the season as represented by love, joy and peaceful co-existence.
Dambazau also urged citizens to continue to promote the unity of the country.
